Facilitator Manual: A workshop for health personnel on addressing the sexual and reproductive health services needs of young women in South Africa

Posted on

Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) comprises of different facets that affect both men and women. It can be split into these four main categories: sexual health (a state of physical, mental, and social wellbeing in relation to sexuality), reproductive health (a state of physical, mental, and social wellbeing relating to the reproductive system and its functions and process), sexual (refers to the ability to fulfill and express one’s sexuality and enjoy sexual health without any judgement, discrimination, or stigmitisation), and reproductive rights (recognition of one’s basic right to decide freely and responsibly if, when, and how to space and time their children).

Facilitating and running training workshops is one of the few ways in which information around SRHR can be shared. This facilitator manual was developed to achieve this exact purpose. With the support from the Ford Foundation Southern Africa, Ibis Reproductive Health was able to produce a training manual that will assist healthcare personnel in addressing young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights.
